Their existing CMS (Wix) was beginning to be a constraint: difficulty in customising, slow to load, and limited in what they could do with navigation, security, brand continuity and customer journey.
Brand recognition and user satisfaction were suffering: the site’s design felt generic; customer experience (speed, menu structure, ease of booking) was sub-par.
As traffic and expectations increased, so did complaints about slow load times, poor mobile responsiveness, and lack of robust security.
Tavern wanted something more bespoke, more polished, more aligned with their brand values, but without sacrificing reliability or security.
OUR APPROACH & SOLUTION
We proposed, designed and delivered a full WordPress site, built from the ground up, using custom elements aligned with their brand identity.
Performance and security were priorities: fast load times, optimised assets, secure coding, clean architecture, caching, etc.
The navigation and information architecture were rethought to make bookings, gift cards and loyalty sign-ups easier to find and use.
We ensured responsive design, cross-device consistency, and an administration backend allowing their team to update content easily.
After launch, Grafton Digital became their web content / maintenance partner: content allocation from Tavern team, and 24-hour support, implementing new content, updates, security patches etc.
RESULT & SATISFACTION
Traffic saw a substantial increase (multiples over pre-launch levels).
Tavern in the Square are highly satisfied: they not only retained us for ongoing maintenance and support, but also trust us as an extension of their digital team.
